How to start preparing meals on a budget?

  1. Design a menu and decide the meals you want to have for each course so that you are able to make a grocery list. With a meal plan, one tends to spend less on fast foods or convenience meals.
  2. While buying groceries check for sales, coupons, etcetera so that you get good buys. However, do not buy unnecessary items or else they will go to waste.
  3. Plant-based meals offer great protein options at a reasonable price, thus, try incorporating them into your menu.
  4. Start incorporating ingredients like rice, pasta or barley into your recipes as they are inexpensive and still can be used in a plethora of different ways.
  5. Avoid recipes that require special ingredients so that you do not go overboard. If by any chance you have to get that ingredient then see how it can be helpful to you in future as well.
